There have been mixed reactions after five persons were confirmed dead by National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) yesterday.
While some believe Nadmo must put in place measures at flood prone areas to avoid further fatalities as the country is expecting more rains this year, others believes nothing can be done about flooding in the country since Ghana lacks underground gutters .
The Greater Accra Regional Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) yesterday confirmed that five persons lost their lives in Accra following Sunday evening’s downpour.
Mr Archibald Cobbinah noted the fatalities occurred at Awudome and another at Avenor.
He said another lady who was rushed to the hospital following an electrocution was confirmed dead Monday morning.
Sunday evening’s rains left parts of the city including Kaneshie, Dzorwulu and Kwame Nkrumah Circle flooded.
