Police service has warned that any unauthorized security arrangement for tomorrow’s presidential primaries will not be tolerated. A statement signed Director General of Public affairs ACP David Eklu urged party executives, delegates, sympathizers and the public to cooperate with its officers for a successful polls.
It said the police will be in charge and anybody carrying offensive weapon such guns knifes and machetes will be apprehended and face the full rigorous of the law.
Meanwhile, The Ashanti regional commander has banned the use of motor bikes at all poling centers.
“No motorbike whether registered and unregistered shall be allowed anywhere close to a voting or collation centre.”..the statement said.
All motor bikes whether registered or unregistered found at the centers will impounded and owners arrested .The statement asked the public with information to enhance maintenance of law and order during the election should not hesitate to inform the police.
The NDC will hold its Presidential Primaries on tomorrow, February 23, 2019 across the 275 constituencies in the country.
Seven people are contesting for the flagbearership of the NDC. They include former President John Dramani Mahama, Alban Bagbin and Professor Joshua Alabi . The rest are Sylvester Mensah, Ekwow Spio-Garbrah ,Nurideen Iddrisu and Goosie Tanoh
