To ensure that Ghana does not go to the IMF again for a bail out, President Akuffo Addo has inaugurated the Presidential Fiscal Responsibility Advisory Council. The Council’s duty is to advise and help the President formulate and implement policies to ensure fiscal discipline in government expendicture. The seven member Council is chaired by former Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Paul Acquah
Meanwhile, President Akufo Addo has requested the newly inaugurated Financial Stability Advisory Country to do all within its power to assist government in ensuring that the banking systems does not slip back into the challenges that caused the collapse of seven banks in the country.
President Akufo Addo said weakness in the banking system undermines confidence in the flow of funds in the country. The President made the remark when he inaugurated the Financial Stability Council at the Jubilee House.
